How It Works: Sports

Cornhole in Denver

Cornhole is a part of our Bar Sports program, and we'll be playing at select bars in downtown Denver.

Cornhole is a standard tailgating game. Each team of two players will have 4 bags, typically filled with corn or some other soft material. The game also involves two 4x2 ft boards with a 6 inch hole towards one end of the board.

Each player must stand with one board and an opposing team player, while the other two players are with the other board, some distance away. Each player takes turns tossing, underhanded, each cornhole bag towards the opposing board. The objective is to have each bag land (and stay on) the board (for one point) or slide through the hole (for three points).

Points may cancel eachother out, so the only points that count are how many more points you get versus your opponent. The team that reaches 21 or more points wins the game. Games are typically best of five.

Only one hand may be used during game play and the other hand must have a drink in it, such as beer, water or some other drink.

Each team must have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players. Cornhole games are self-refereed, although we will always have someone on site to set up the games and answer any rules questions you may have.

Please see our cornhole rules for a complete list of the rules.

Giant Jenga

Jenga is a kids game invented and owned by Hasbro and is a part of our Bar Sports program, which we'll be playing at select bars in Denver.

You'll have 54 elongated blocks of wood or fiberboard, and place them, criss-crossed, in sets of three, building a tower. Each team of three players will take turns pulling a block out of someplace in the middle and placing it on the top of the tower. The objective is to do so without knocking over the tower.

Only one hand may be used during game play and the other hand must have a drink in it, such as beer, water or some other drink. You must choose a block that is further down the tower from 3 complete rows from the top. Games are typically best of three.

Each team must have a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 8 players. Cornhole games are self-refereed, although we will always have someone on site to set up the games and answer any rules questions you may have.

Please see our giant jenga rules for a complete list of the rules.

Kickball in Denver

Kickball in the Denver area is our biggest sport and our players love it! We normally play at Commons Park or City of Cuernavaca Park.

Adult kickball is played similarly to baseball and softball, except instead of a bat and ball, we use a 10" rubber ball. The idea is simple: when it's your turn to kick, Kick the ball and run to first base! Your team will cheer you on, but you better hurry, since the opposing team will be trying to tag you out!

We allow up to 11 players on a field at a time (excluding base runners): 5 men, 5 women and 1 of either sex. We've got 3 strikes, 4 balls and 4 fouls, and fouls count as strikes.

You'll play one game per week, except when your team is assigned to referee games. Teams or players that do help referee games get some beer at the bar after games, courtesy of NAKID, as a thank you for helping.

Each kickball team must have a minimum of 20 players and a maximum of 35 players per team. That doesn't mean that all should or will show up every week (we all have other things in life). Each team, with the exception of company or alumni teams (assuming you get to 20 players), must be willing to take on some free agent players.

Please see our kickball rules for a complete list of the rules.

Please note that drinking alcohol during games on the National Mall is illegal. Anyone caught drinking may be removed from the league without refund.
